Our Community

Branson is populated by a rich mix of folks, including extended ranch families whose ancestors were among the original homesteaders in this area. Others are drawn here by job opportunities or to enroll their children in the well-regarded K-12 Branson School. Not everyone can live in a town as small as Branson, Colorado, but those who are born here or choose to relocate, find themselves quickly captivated by the peace, quiet, and natural beauty of the surrounding environment. Even though it may appear that little goes on in Branson, engaged community members wear lots of different hats and keep the Town humming throughout the year.

The Branson School

The Branson School has long been a vital center of community life for residents of Branson and surrounding areas. The K-12, brick-and-mortar public school attracts students from as far as 50 miles away, drawn by deeply committed teachers and a family-friendly atmosphere. In addition, Branson School Online, created in 2001, reaches students across Colorado. In both settings, academics, sports, and extra-curricular activities including robotics and agriculture (FFA), offer students the resources and opportunities they need to enhance learning and prepare for their futures. U.S. Post Office

When our little post office was on the verge of being closed in 2012, the community rallied together to convince the U.S. Postal Service otherwise. Our efforts to remain open were successful, and the Branson Post Office continues to operate six days a week, also serving an important role in the community as the official “notice board” for town and area happenings.

So...., what do people DO here?
— says most everyone passing through

We work in, and support our school, raising our kids in a clean, safe and healthy place. We get out and play sports. We hike and ride horses. We garden, raise eggs, milk, beef, look after cattle, chickens, goats, lambs, horses. We cook really well (no take-out here). We work hard. We design. We create. We look out for each other.
