Branson’s Town government includes six elected Council members (also known as Trustees) and an elected Mayor. A Town Clerk and Town Treasurer are selected from within the Council ranks. As an incorporated municipality, Branson follows Colorado State Statutes including “Sunshine Laws” that govern open, public meetings and the timely posting of notices and agendas. Community members are welcome to attend regular monthly meetings and to voice concerns at the top of the agenda. At this time, Council members and Mayor all serve as volunteers. In a town as small as Branson, Council members wear many hats, overseeing the operation, maintenance, and repair of the town’s water department and roads; establishing policies, procedures, and ordinances; managing Town finances; developing working relationships with County or State agencies as appropriate; and informing residents of Council actions.

1. Water & Trash Bills and Payments

Monthly water and trash bills are sent via snail mail or email, and can be paid by check, cash, or by credit/debit cards online. If you are having difficulty paying your bill, please contact Council or the Water Billing Clerk regarding a payment plan. If necessary, overdue accounts will be sent to a collection agency and services may be shut off.

Questions regarding new water taps, seasonal shut-offs, water leaks, the transfer of names on water accounts, or trash service for non-water customers outside the town limits, can also be addressed to the Mayor, Council members, or Water Billing Clerk. Remember, we are here to help.

Town Council meets at 6:00pm on the third Tuesday of every month at Town Hall. Agendas are posted at the Branson Post office at least 24 hours in advance. If circumstances require a change in meeting time or date, that information will be added to the posted agenda.
